Job description

This role is based in Taiwan and requires the ability to work from our Taiwan office when needed to support employee onboarding, office operations, team events, and other in-person activities.

We're looking for a HR & Business Operations Specialist who will serve as a trusted partner to our team and leadership. You'll help ensure our people, workplace, and operational processes are well-supported, efficient, and scalable, while contributing to a positive and engaging employee experience across our globally distributed workforce.

As a key member of the team, you'll be expected to maintain a regular presence in our Taiwan office and help foster a positive, connected workplace experience for employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition

  • Coordinate and manage recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, and offer administration.

  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure an efficient and positive hiring process.

  • Conduct research on compensation benchmarks, benefits practices, and local labour law across relevant markets.

People Operations & Employee Lifecycle

  • Manage the full lifecycle of employees and contractors, including onboarding, engagement changes, and offboarding.

  • Ensure a positive and consistent employee experience across all locations and employment types.

  • Coordinate onboarding activities, documentation, system access, and orientation for new hires.

  • Maintain employee records and ensure all HR documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.

HR Systems & Data Management

  • Own and administer HR platforms and systems (we use Rippling!).

  • Maintain accurate employee data and organizational records.

  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and analyses to support business decisions.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and confidentiality requirements.

Global Benefits & Employment Administration

  • Coordinate and manage benefits programs, including group insurance, retirement plans, health checks, wellness initiatives, and other employee programs.

  • Partner with external vendors, brokers, and service providers to ensure smooth administration and employee support.

  • Support payroll and related HR administrative processes as needed.

Compliance & Employment Practices

  • Maintain strong knowledge of Taiwan labor laws and employment regulations, while staying informed on employment practices and labor requirements in countries where the company operates or hires talent.

  • Support compliance efforts related to both employee and contractor engagements, including worker classification considerations and local regulatory requirements.

Performance & People Programs

  • Coordinate and administer people processes, including performance reviews, employee surveys, and related initiatives.

  • Ensure HR processes are executed consistently and on schedule.

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR workflows, policies, and employee experience.

Business Operations & Office Administration

  • Manage day-to-day office operations and facilities for the Taiwan office.

  • Coordinate vendor relationships, office supplies, equipment, and workplace services.

  • Support company administration, including invoice processing, reimbursement management, and payment coordination.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Build strong labour relations across the organization and serve as a trusted point of contact for employees.

  • Support employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive, inclusive company culture.

  • Organize company events, team-building activities, outings, and Year End Party.

Job requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, Office Management, or a related role.

  • Strong understanding of Taiwan labor laws and employment practices.

  • Experience administering HR systems and maintaining employee records.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a distributed environment.

  • Exceptional English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the confidence to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting globally distributed teams.

  • Familiarity with international employment practices, EOR providers, or global benefits administration.

  • Experience in a startup or technology company environment.

  • Experience managing vendors, office operations, and company events.

  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms, ATS systems, and payroll administration.
